One of the hardest aspects of photography to master is Brisbane portrait photography . Trying to capture more than just the face of someone. When you take a picture of someone you want to encapsulate who that person is, their personality and what they are feeling at that moment. The best photographers seem to be able to manage this but for a amateur photographer it may be a little more difficult. Here we discuss some factors of portrait photography that can actually help you add character to your snaps.

The Use Of Light In Brisbane corporate photography

A good time to take a portrait photograph is on a cloudy overcast day because it creates a softer light which is flattering. The soft light produces much better skin tones. If you know it is going to be a sunny day then take your pictures both at dusk and dawn as that is when you have natural side or “cross” lighting from the sun which will lead to a sense of depth and form in your subject (the person(s)) you are photographing.

The cross light will light up the side of your subjects face and if you then zoom in on the person too you can concentrate on the person you are photographing blurring the background. This mean the viewer will be drawn to the person you have photographed.

The Lens And Brisbane wedding photography

If you use your zoom lens to shorten the “depth of field” (the sense of depth) in your picture and then throw the background out of focus it will add importance to your subject. If you were to use a wide-angled lens too close to your subject you will end up distorting their features, You should use your zoom lens to fill you photograph instead of leaving your main point of interest floating in space.

If you zoom in you will flatten perspective leading to a more flattering shot of your subject. It can also be good if you want to focus on a subject further away and bring the foreground out of focus.
